A fond memory
I was recently on your website and listening to your jingle. What a happy tune it is and it rekindled the beautiful happy memories of the early 80’s after arriving here from Britain with a young family, of visiting our favourite Mike’s in Randhart, when it used to be in the Retsos mall, off Jacqueline Avenue. We used to eat there two or three times a week, because of the fantastic value for money, the delicious food and their accommodating values for the young kids. My fondest memories are of every Friday night, when we all used to queue up to get in, as the place was so popular.

There was always a table set up outside offering a welcome glass of sherry, which in my case went down very well, especially on those cold winter evenings. Inevitably the crowd would all chat until a table was ready, we made many friends there. We met up week after week in the queue, the same old faces. There were other restaurants around, but we all loved our Mike’s and wouldn’t budge from the queue. Sometimes we waited over an hour, but it was worth it.

I still visit Mike’s in Alberton and must admit I have never left there without enjoying every minute of my experience. My kids also support OUR restaurant and am glad to say that their kids are following the family trend. We love you all at Mike’s. Keep up the good work.
